English Proficiency Program

Online Schooling Program for Afghan Girls

English opens doors that few other skills do. Scholarships, online courses, and most international university programmes run in English. We teach Afghan girls who do not have access to formal education the language they need to keep moving forward.

Project overview

About the programme

The programme runs entirely online. Volunteer teachers from around the world meet weekly with small groups of students. Classes are split by level, so a beginner gets the basics done properly and an advanced student gets pushed. Class sizes stay between 10 and 15 students, which means every student gets called on, gets feedback, and gets to use the language.

Class size

Maximum 10 to 15 students per class. Two volunteer teachers per class to keep interaction high. Volunteers do not need prior teaching experience, but they need to be fluent in English. Volunteers who speak Persian (Dari or Farsi) provide bilingual support at the lower levels.

Levels offered

  • Elementary (A1)
  • Pre-Intermediate (A2)
  • Intermediate (B1)
  • Upper-Intermediate (B2)
  • Advanced (C1)

Curriculum and materials

Students get a full set of materials each week, made by our curriculum team. Reading and listening worksheets, grammar and writing exercises, speaking worksheets, videos, and slides. Volunteers receive everything they need before the class, plus training and ongoing support.
